The Griffith Regional Art Gallery is housed in one of the City's most significant pieces of public architecture, the historic War Memorial Building. The Eastern wing of this 1939 Art Deco building has been converted into a gallery that is small but feels bigger because of its 4.2 meter-high ceilings and natural timber floors. The Gallery's program compromises a mix of touring exhibitions, community exhibitions, exhibitions by local artists and exhibitions that feature the Gallery's collections.
The Gallery’s major collections are the National Contemporary Jewellery Collection which curated exhibitions will be on permanent display from July 2013 and the Couture Collection which features the life's work of John Clarringbold and Ross Weymouth. The Couture Collection is not on permanent display but often features in the Gallery's annual exhibition calendar.
